2008 is Liverpool European Capital of Culture Year!

It is therefore an excellent year to visit Liverpool and its city regions. Already renowned throughout the world for its World Heritage status, music, architecture, literature, arts and sports, in 2008 Liverpool will stage the cultural party of a lifetime.

Its European Capital of Culture status will see the city hosting a spectacular range of events across the whole year in galleries, museums, theatres, streets and parks.

There will be hundreds of events and most of them free of charge so there truly will be something for everyone.
