La P de Portugal y de Porto

 

                                                 

    

             Ninguno de los tres hombres interrumpió su faena pero nos prestaron una mirada amistosa para la foto. A finales de octubre, aún estaban faenando en las terrazas del valle de Corvo, que al igual que las del valle del Duero, proporcionan las uvas que se transforman en el caldo más famoso de Portugal: el porto. Este vino fino debe su nombre al puerto donde se almacena antes de ser exportado hacia su destino final.

         None of the three men interrupted their work but they offered us a friendly smile for the photo. At the end of October they were still working the terraced hillsides of Corvo. This area, along with the Duero Valley, produces the grapes which are transformed into the most famous brew in Portugal: el Porto. This fine wine owes its name to the port in which it is stored before being exported to its worldwide destination.

        Keiner der drei unterbrach seine Arbeit, aber sie schenkten uns ein freundliches Lächeln fürs Foto. Ende Oktober noch waren sie auf den Terrassen des Corvo-Tales am Werk, die wie jene der Duero-Tals, die Trauben hervorbringen, aus denen das berühmteste Getränk Portugals hergestellt wird: Portwein. Dieser feine Rebensaft erhielt seinen Namen von jener Hafenstadt, wo er vor seinem Export in alle Welt gelagert wird.
